ENGLEWOOD — The funeral arrangements for a Northmont senior killed in a crash over the weekend have been announced.
Chris Gwynne, 19, died early Sunday morning following a car crash on Salem Avenue.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 8 at 12 p.m. at the Rhema Lighthouse Christian Center. A visitation will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., according to his obituary.

Gwynne is being remembered as a “loyal confidant to his friends and family members.”
“Chris never knew a stranger and lit up every room that he walked into,” his obituary stated.
News Center 7 spoke to Northmont City Schools Superintendent Tony Thomas Monday evening. He said the school’s focus has been on supporting Gwynne’s family, friends and school staff.

“These are the toughest days we have and they happen from time to time and it doesn’t matter how much experience you have, it never gets any easier. We really feel for the family as well as all his friends and staff members who knew him,” Thomas said.
Gwynne was a passenger in a car with five other teenagers. The crash report stated the driver lost control and hit a pole. The five other teens were transported to Miami Valley Hospital with minor to serious injuries.
