The demonstration was mostly peaceful and ended with a moment of solidarity between protesters and police that was widely praised by those involved.

According to the jewelry chain’s website, the location had been closed and had not reopened yet due to the coronavirus pandemic.

News Center 7 reached out to the Beavercreek Police Department to learn more about the damage that was done to the building.

“We have not received any complaints from the Helzberg Diamonds,” the police department said.

“From the officers on the scene, there was a glass pane damaged, however, not enough to where entry was made into the business.”
