As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, they started treating the roads after midnight.

The first wave of a rain and snow mix is expected to arrive later this morning, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Ryan Marando.

As previously reported by News Center 7, ODOT trucks load up and move out as cold weather moves in.

“We are really trying to hit bridges, ramps, overpasses. A lot of times those will freeze first because they have air flowing underneath them,” said Mandi Dillon, ODOT.

She told News Center 7 on Thursday that there are some drivers can do to stay safe.

“Make sure that you are leaving a little extra time to get to your destination. Also, when you see our plows out on the road, give them some space.”

We will update this story.
