Gov. DeWine presented a virtual address to Miami University grads

OXFORD — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine was scheduled to speak at Miami University’s commencement before its’ postponement due to the coronavirus, instead he gave his speech virtually this weekend.

Both the governor and his wife, Fran, are graduates of Miami University and they had three grandsons join the university’s graduating class of 2020 this year.

In the address, DeWine noted that the coronavirus will make the university’s community stronger.

“We will come out of this,” he said.

“We will be stronger. Our scientists and our business people -- and among them now many of today’s graduates -- will be the ones to find new treatments and a vaccine and innovative and creative economic solutions.”
