DAYTON — A Montgomery County grand jury found that three Dayton police officers acted lawfully in an officer-involved shooting that injured a 19-year-old Jefferson Twp. man.

The grand jury declined to indict the officers — identified following the incident as detectives Dave House and Jason Rhodes and patrolman William Overholtz — according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office.

Re’al Streety, now 20, was in critical, but stable condition when he was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

During law enforcement blitz on July 18, noticed a vehicle with excessive tint and a license plate that was not registered to the vehicle. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle drove off.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisting in the blitz and used its air patrol to follow the vehicle and give police its location.

The vehicle pulled up to a second vehicle and the driver of the first vehicle got into the second one.

There were two other people in the second vehicle, including Streety.

Officers blocked in the second vehicle, resulting in Streety fleeing.

Police chased him on foot, with all three officers firing at least one shot when Streety ignored commands to drop a weapon.
