DAYTON — A man was indicted on murder and felonious assault charges today for a shooting on South Broadway Street last week.
Dayveon Johnson was involved in a verbal fight that began on the front porch of a home on South Broadway Street, according to a court affidavit.

Johnson was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, tampering with evidence and two other weapons charged.

The fight quickly became physical and a third person, Corleone Lewis, attempted to break up the fight right before it became deadly.
Johnson reportedly pulled out a gun from his pants and shot two rounds in the direction of three people at the scene, including Lewis.
Authorities say the initial gunshots hit Lewis and he immediately fell to the ground. Lewis was killed.

Another person was shot in the ankle, fell, and began crawling away from the scene through the yard, according to a court affidavit.
As he crawled away he reportedly heard another round of gunshots, but was unsure where they were coming from.
Police later found out that Johnson was shot in the arm during the second exchange of gunfire.
