Greater Dayton RTA to offer free rides on Independence Day

DAYTON — The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has announced it will offer free rides to help people attend various Fourth of July celebrations on July 4, Independence Day.

They will be offering free rides to help people attend events throughout Dayton and Montgomery County, according to a Greater Dayton RTA spokesperson.

RTA will have its “Proudly Serving” Centerville bus traveling the parade route at the Americana Festival in Centerville and Washington Township.

It will be staged during the festival as a cooling station and relaxation spot near the festival’s main stage, a spokesperson said.

The theme for this year’s Americana Festival is “Duty. Honor. Sacrifice. Honoring our Community Heroes.” The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Franklin Street on July 4.
