GREENE COUNTY — Lawsuits filed over the Congressional redistricting map could delay the May 3 primary election, but local boards of elections must prepare anyway.
The Ohio Redistricting Commission adopted the new Congressional district map earlier this month, but since then lawsuits have been filed in an effort to get it redrawn.

The Supreme Court is expected to weigh in at some point, but until then, the Greene County Board of Elections continue to prepare for the primary.
“We are working so hard on things; They change daily. We’re working to make adjustments as we go. Everything is coming from the Secretary of State and we’re working to get it right,” Alisha Beeler, Greene County Board of Elections director, said.
Beeler told News Center 7′s Gabrielle Enright that she is proud of her team, but admits it needs to be bigger for the Primary. They need about 300 poll workers and right now, they need to fire about 150 more people.
Molly Rubio works to recruit poll workers and said there are perks.
“You will get paid $100 to $150 for serving that day,” Rubio said. “You get to help the community. People who do it love it and they always come back to do it.”
There are some requirements to be a poll worker, including being a registered voter in Green County. The full list of requirements and information on becoming a poll worker can be found here or by calling the Greene County Board of Elections at (937) 562-6170.
