A Greene County florist, who dozens of brides say no-showed or canceled on their wedding days, has been booked into the Greene County Jail after being arrested Wednesday.

News Center 7′s Gabrielle Enright was there as Desiree Pace, 38, was taken to jail after being arrested for failing to appear in court for charges of passing bad checks. When asked if she had anything to say, Pace was silent.

News Center 7 previously reported in July that Pace, who owns Flowers by Des, had a warrant issued for her arrest in the unrelated 2019 case involving bad checks.

Pace was also sued by the Ohio Attorney General in September. The civil lawsuit filed said Pace violated the Consumer Sales Practices Act.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said he was seeking restitution for at least 48 Ohioans who, the release said, were scammed out of more than $50,000.

“An investigation found consumers either paid in full for services or put down a 50% deposit for Pace to provide flowers for their events. Pace either canceled the contracts within days of the events or, without notice, failed to appear at the events when she was contractually required to do so,” the news release said.

Additionally, Pace has an outstanding felony warrant in Highland County for theft by deception.
