XENIA — The Greene County Treasurer's Office made sure that good 'ol Saint Nick made an early visit to a Xenia home this week.
A family of eight, including six children under the age of eight, had been living in a motel room for three months before moving into their home.
The parents told their children that Santa might not be able to come to their house for a couple of months, according to a Greene County Treasurer's press release.

"We couldn't let that happen," said Chief Deputy Treasurer Sandy Brubaker.
Brubaker got in contact with the Salvation Army to try to make a difference for the family in need.
"When (the Salvation Army) told us there was a family of eight that had been living in a motel room for three months … I knew we'd have to find some partners to help give them a holiday to remember," Brubaker said.
Over several weeks, members of the treasurer's office teamed up with Chief Deputy Recorder Andrew Williams and other employees of the recorder's office to contribute money and gifts for the family, according to the release.
The offices purchased boots, clothes and bed sheets for all of the kids, toys and a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, according to the treasurer's office.
Brubaker told Dianna Cordle, sales manager at the Holiday Inn in Fairborn, about the family and she immediately got on board.
In less than two days, the hotel staff collected toys, a vacuum, kitchenware and gift cards from employees who wanted to help.

"It's amazing how community members came together to help a family in need," Brubaker said.
All the gifts were delivered to the family this week.
"The mother told me she was overwhelmed with joy and thankfulness," Brubaker said.
