Shooting victim found inside crashed car Saturday in Dayton identified

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 6:30 p.m. (March 28):

A shooting victim found in a crashed car has died after they were taken to an area hospital early Saturday morning, according to a Dayton police incident report.

The incident was first reported as a crash on North Broadway Street at Harvard Boulevard around 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

Police and medics on scene found an adult male shooting victim in the driver’s seat of the car and transported him to an area hospital for treatment.

The man was later identified as Anthony Render, 47, of Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Police said Render died Monday morning from his injuries.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene. Police said this shooting was not believed to be a random act.

The investigation is ongoing.
