HARRISON TWP. — Neighbors in one local apartment complex are dealing with severe damage — and now at least one tenant says he’s being told he won’t ever be able to go back to his home.

Everywhere you look in the Rivers Edge Apartment complex you see destruction. But between all of the debris, there are tenants trying to get out as quickly as possible.
One neighbor News Center 7 talked to says he was told by the apartment complex that the county could condemn his home at any moment.
That means he wouldn’t be able to get inside to get his belongings.
So now, just days after the tornado hit, he paid for a U-Haul to start his move.
But he doesn’t have anywhere to go.

He said he doesn’t have the money either. He said he’s been in talks with the apartment complex and is working to get his June rent money back, but there’s still no clear answer.
He has renter’s insurance, but said he also can’t afford the $1,000 deductible.
“I’ve been spending so much money lately, it’s crazy,” he said. “My car is totaled. It’s just ridiculous.
“I just want my money back as soon as possible so I can figure out my next moves.”
News Center 7 called the local apartment office here. They said they aren’t answering media questions and have no comment.
