Road reopens after hazmat crews respond to Dayton residence

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 1:45 a.m. (March 5):

Wyoming Street has reopened after being closed for over an hour following a hazmat incident Monday night.

A hazmat coordinator was responding to a home in the 1700 block of Wyoming Street, but it remains unclear what prompted a hazmat response, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

Initial reports indicate a man reported his brother had been sick at the residence around 11 p.m.

The incident blocked Wyoming Street between Highland and Epworth Avenues. Officials on scene were also keeping people, including our crews, a significant distance back from the house.

No other details were immediately available

A hazmat team was called late Monday night to a home following a report of an illness.

A man reported his brother had been sick at a home in the 1700 block of Wyoming Street in Dayton.

After crews responded around 11 p.m., they requested a hazmat team but it’s not clear what prompted that request.
