JEFFERSON TWP. — A utility worker was injured after his truck was hit while he was in it’s bucket in Jefferson Twp. Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of Farmersville West Carrollton Road and Germantown Pike around 10:10 a.m.

A box truck was traveling through the intersection when it hit the bottom of the bucket of a utility truck. A worker was in the bucket, working on the traffic signals when the bucket was hit, according to Jefferson Twp. Fire Chief Gregory Wilcox.

The worker was knocked out of the bucket, but had their safety harness on and didn’t fall to the ground.

“As he fell out, he was dangling from it,” Wilcox said.

When fire crews arrived, the worker had already been lowered down and was sitting in his truck. He was taken to the hospital for minor back pain, Wilcox said.

The driver of the box truck was not injured.

The crash has shut down the intersection while firefighters and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies investigate.
