Heart scans: The little-known procedure that can save your life

MIAMI VALLEY — A little-known procedure could help save your life.

A cardiac computed tomography, also known as a CT scan, can help with doctors catch early-stage heart disease, according to Premier Health.

The non-invasive procedure uses X-rays to take pictures of your heart’s arteries to measure plaque buildup.

Early and advanced heart disease don’t always have symptoms. But a CT scan can help patients get a head start on their heart health.

CT scans are offered at hospitals all over the Miami Valley and at most locations can be scheduled over the phone or online.
