Heat indexes exceed 100 degrees; more dangerous temps are on the way

DAYTON — A dangerous heat wave continues to blanket the Miami Valley, and there is no widespread rain expected in the near future.

Dangerous heat is also expected for this weekend’s CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show.

A Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Friday for the entire Miami Valley with the exception of Randolph County in Indiana.

The temperature will continue to level out in the mid-90s with heat indexes well over 100 degrees. Evening lows are not expected to get out of the 70s. However, there is a chance for a few showers or storms on Sunday.
