KETTERING — CORRECTION: A previous version of this story reported that no one was found inside the apartment. Police said Tuesday morning that a 46-year-old man was arrested.

A 46-year-old man was arrested after a standoff at an apartment on Aberdeen Avenue in Kettering Monday night, according to Kettering Police.

“The caller went into the hall to investigate and was met by a male with a firearm and the caller retreated back into the apartment,” police said.

The Kettering Police SWAT team and the Beavercreek Police RERT team responded and worked to get the man out of the house.

The suspect eventually complied and was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated menacing, discharging firearms where prohibited, using weapons while intoxicated and inducing panic.

Police did not formally identify the suspect, but said formal charges are expected to be presented to the prosecutor’s office for consideration.

However, online jail records indicate Shawn Michael McNary was booked into the Montgomery County Jail Tuesday morning on the charges outlined by police after his arrest in the 500 block of Aberdeen Avenue.
