3 hospitalized after escaping from burning house in Trenton

TRENTON — A fire at a home in Trenton early Monday morning forced an adult and two children to jump out of a window, fire officials said, according to our partners at WCPO.

All three victims were hospitalized, but their conditions are unknown at this time.

The fire started in the kitchen of the home on East State Street, Trenton Fire Chief Darrell Yater told WCPO. The adult, a teenage girl and a boy were home when the fire started in the kitchen, he said.

All three jumped out of a bedroom window, but they suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns, Yater said.

A medical helicopter transported a boy to Dayton Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Yater told WCPO.

The family will not be able to live in the home for a while, Yater said. It’s unclear whether the American Red Cross will help them or if they’ll stay with relatives.
