HUBER HEIGHTS — A new BMX and skate park will be coming to Monita Park in Huber Heights after the city council approved the latest resolution on the project Monday night.

Council voted 7-0 to approve allowing the city manager to enter into three contracts with contractors to build the recreation spot.

“These new park amenities will add so much to the city for our youth and for those who may have the courage to want to revisit their youth,” said Mayor Jeff Gore in a Facebook post about the project. “I’m very excited as both of these parks should be completed and ready to use this September/October.”

The cost of the project is about $615,000 and the funding will come from the city’s parks and recreation fund.

The BMX and skate park ramps will be constructed by American Ramp Company based out of Joplin, Missouri.
