Riverside police pursuit suspect in custody; drugs thrown from car during chase

RIVERSIDE — UPDATE @ 4:48 p.m.: The suspect in a police pursuit in Riverside this morning is now in custody.

Anthony L. Davis turned himself in this afternoon with his attorney, Maj. Adam Colon of the Riverside Police Department said in a release.

“He was interviewed by Riverside detectives and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail with an initial charge of tampering with evidence,” Colon stated.

Detectives will meet Friday with county prosecutors for formal charges, he said.

UPDATE @ 12:45 p.m.:

Police are looking for a 22-year-old man investigators said is a person of interest after a pursuit in parts of Riverside and Huber Heights Thursday.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle around 11 a.m. but initiated a pursuit after the vehicle didn’t stop, according to investigators.

During the pursuit two bags containing a “large quantity” of marijuana were thrown from the car and later recovered by officers.

The vehicle drove into a wooded area on Misty Lane in Huber Heights where the driver fled from the car on foot and was able to elude officers.

Police said Anthony Davis III is considered a person of interest in the pursuit. He is described as 6-feet 1-inch tall, weighing around 180 pounds.

Investigators ask if you know of Davis’ whereabouts you are asked to contact Riverside police at 937-233-2080.

Police initiated a pursuit in the area of Brandt Pike and Powell Road around 11 a.m.  Thursday, according to dispatchers.
