DAYTON — The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is asking for the public’s help after dogs were reportedly dumped on the side of the road Friday.
Humane Society agents were called to a scene by Dayton police after a bystander noticed a man dumping dogs near the intersections of Knecht and Riverside drives, according to the shelter on social media.
The bystander told police that he saw a car stop along the side of the road and throw two dogs from the car who then ran away.

While confronting the man accused of dumping the dogs, the bystander saw two more dogs in the car which the man willingly handed over, the shelter said.
The bystander called police but was unable to get the licensce plate of the man’s white Chevy Tahoe.
He is described as a skinny white male with blue eyes.
The shelter took in the two dogs but the other two dogs who ran from the scene have not been found.
