Hundreds participate in World Race for Hope 5K

WRH

Hundreds of people participated in the annual New Year's Day World Race for Hope 5k today, according to News Center 7's Northern Bureau Chief Steve Baker. The race was presented by the Free to Run Foundation.

This years race wasn’t timed and there were no results due to the weather from the last few years making attendance challenging.

But to keep the tradition, this year was more of a gathering for runners and walkers who want to start the year off on the right foot.

The race was also free this year, but donations were accepted to help with costs and to support charity partners.

A new World Race for Hope will be offered in July 2019, which will be timed and shirts will be given.
