Dayton police arrested two men after a combined raid with Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies on Thursday.

Prosecutors have charged Antawan Benson Jr., 23, and Javen Conner, 19, both of Jefferson Twp., with three counts of improper discharge of a firearm and one count of discharge of a firearm, according to a previous News Center 7 report.

Conner was initially booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspected murder, but prosecutors have not approved murder charges against either suspect.

“If there’s more suspects out here, then go ahead and hunt everybody down,” Carlos’ father, Michael Nooks said.

Nooks said he heard the gunfire, then a scream from his other daughter.

Dayton Police previously told News Center 7 that two men were across the street and shot several homes but do not think they were targeting Isabella’s home.

“If there is anybody else involved, I hope they get them,” Nook said.

On Friday, Dayton Public Schools Charity Adams Earley Girls Academy students and teachers gathered to honor the life and legacy of Carlos.

Her classmates read original poems and teachers shared memories, according to a previous News Center 7 report.

“Isabella will be greatly missed, but Charity Adams staff and students will remember her bright smile, kind and happy demeanor, and willingness to always help her fellow classmates,” the Dayton Public Schools said in a social media post.

Dayton Public Schools Superintendent Dr. David Lawrence said she had attended the school since preschool and was a seventh grader.

Carlos’ family wants to see everyone involved brought to justice.

“Hey, it’s kids that don’t know how to shoot with guns,” Nooks said.

CrimeStoppers offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the people involved in Carlos’ death.

It is not clear how police received information on Benson and Conner’s involvement.
