DAYTON — A stretch of southbound I-75 in Dayton was closed nearly seven hours on Friday after deadly crash involving a motorcycle and dump truck.

The crash was first reported just before 7 a.m. on I-75 South near Stanley Avenue. A Dayton police spokesperson said in a social media message that one person was killed in the crash.
Stephen Downey, 42, of Miamisburg, was identified as the victim of the crash by the Montgomery County Coroners Office.
The crash and investigation caused heavy backups for miles on both interstates and surface streets with drivers trying to find a route around the closure.
