“I feel as if there are no amount of words that could completely describe just who Seara is and what she meant to not only me but to so many others,” Neal said. “Seara was the kind of person who brought joy wherever she was, and whenever she’s around you, you’re guaranteed to laugh and smile.”
Neal was on a ride along and in the car the moment Burton was shot during a traffic stop on August 10th. They had plans to get married on August 19th.
“I feel an emptiness without her here, but I will forever be thankful for the purest love she gave me and the wonderful friends and family she has that have become mine,” Neal said.
Richmond Officer Ami Miller, Burton’s stepmother, expressed during a speech how proud she was of Burton.

“In the last four years, I was able to watch her achieve so many things,” Miller said. “Seara had the determination and drive that all of us should strive for.”
Miller described Burton as “the strongest woman” she ever knew.
“She recently just showed the world just how strong she was,” Miller said.
