2 injured in apparent fight in Trotwood; Police not sure any arrest will be made

UPDATE @ 7:10 p.m.: A male has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital from the reported assault in the 3900 block of Salem Avenue, a Trotwood police sergeant said.

A female who was apparently punched in the face during the incident, was treated at the scene and released.

Police have detained at least one person and are still sorting out what happened, but the sergeant said he's not sure anyone will be arrested.

The scene has been cleared and Salem Avenue is open again.

INITIAL REPORT

A reported pedestrian strike in the 3900 block of Salem Avenue in Trotwood is being investigated as a possible assault and police have a person in custody.

Trotwood police and a medic unit were dispatched just after 6:30 p.m. on a report of a possible pedestrian strike. A caller to our newsroom reported a male down, in the street, suffering from what appeared to be a head wound.

One person has been taken to a hospital. A second medic unit is on scene for a second person apparently in injured in the incident.

Police have a young man in custody in what witnesses described as a fight.

Northbound Salem is shut down for the investigation.
