2 injured in second chain-reaction crash on I-675 S

WASHINGTON TWP. — UPDATE @ 10:55 p.m.

A five-vehicle chain-reaction crash Wednesday night on southbound I-675 sent two people to a local hospital.

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 8:50 p.m. to I-675 between Ohio 725 and Ohio 48 in Washington Twp.

It was the second crash of the evening along southbound I-675 and happened just miles north of a fatal crash that shut down all south lanes for about six hours between Ohio 725 and I-75.

In the second crash, the driver of a black Ford Fusion struck the rear of an Audi A4, causing a chain reaction of three other vehicles attempting to avoid the crash, Sgt. David Milburn stated in a press release.

A male and female driver were taken to Southview Medical Center in Washington Twp. for injuries described as not life-threatening injuries.

UPDATE @ 10:37 p.m.: 

Wreckage from the accident at I-675 SB and OH-725 has been cleared, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed.

Southbound I-675 remains shut down south of OH-725.

FIRST REPORT

A second multi-vehicle crash has been reported at I-675 SB and OH-725 in Washington Twp. near the crash reported this afternoon at I-675 and I-75.

According to scanner reports, four to five vehicles may be involved.

Two people have been taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police confirmed.

The far left lane of I-675 SB before OH-725 remains open.

Traffic from both accidents is being diverted onto OH-725.
