5 injured, 1 taken by medical helicopter after 2-vehicle crash in Auglaize County

Five people were injured in a crash Wednesday morning on National Road at Wapakoneta Cridersville Road.

Crews responded around 7:30 a.m. to the two-vehicle crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A 2007 Dodge Caliber, driven by Daniel Huebner, 18, was traveling north on Wapakoneta Cridersville Road when he ran the stop sign and struck a 2016 Honda Odyssey, driven by Jay Herbst, 39, of Wapakoneta that was traveling east on National Road.

Both drivers and the three occupants of the Dodge Caliber sustained non-life threatening injuries. The occupants included two 18-year-old males and one 17-year-old male from Wapakoneta.

The 17-year-old was transported by Life Flight from St. Rita's Hospital to the OSU Wexner Medical Center, and the other individuals were treated at St. Rita's Hospital.

All occupants of the Dodge were not wearing seat belts.

Cridersville Police, Cridersville Fire and EMS, Shawnee Township EMS and American Township Fire Department all assisted at the crash that remains under investigation.
