The passenger of a car in a rollover crash on Russia-Houston Road Monday night died from their injuries, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. Monday after receiving a call from an auto assistance service reporting a possible crash on Russia-Houston Road, deputies said in a media release Tuesday afternoon.

The passenger of the car, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office to determine identification and cause of death, deputies said.
The driver of the car, identified as Timothy Worthington, 49, of Russia, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by a medical helicopter. Worthington is listed in serious condition at the hospital, according to a spokesperson.
An initial investigation found the car went off the right side of the road on Russia-Houston Road, slid to the left side, crashed into a utility pole, rolled at least one time, and caught fire, deputies said.
Potential factors in the crash were not released and the incident remains under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Two people have been injured in a vehicle accident Monday night in the 2000 block of Russia Houston Road in Russia, Shelby County.

The accident was reported just after 10:30 p.m. and authorities on scene have asked for equipment to extricate the two victims from the wreckage, according to Shelby County Sheriff's dispatch.
CareFlight has been dispatched to the accident, and Dayton Power & Light has been asked to send a crew because power lines have been brought down in the accident.
