The sheriff’s office said there is no evidence supporting that these threats are credible and no imminent danger has been identified.
Law enforcement is still taking precautions and additional safety measures at the schools identified in the threat, according to the sheriff’s office.
Oakwood Schools sent an email to parents providing more context. A portion of the email reads “Earlier today, school districts across Ohio, including Oakwood City Schools, received an email message threatening school buildings from an account claiming to be a Russian terrorist. On Friday, school districts in Texas received a similar message.”
Districts including Northmont City Schools, Sidney City Schools, Vandalia-Butler City School District, and Mad River Schools sent similar messages to parents.
Some parents said they still are not sure if they will send their kids to school on Monday.
“Worried and scared. It made me sick as soon as I read that email,” Christin Oldham said.
Oldham has a preteen who goes to Mad River Middle School.
Two weeks ago, the school was put on lockdown for a different school threat.

“I’m already looking into online school because I’m worried about him being in public school period,” she said.
One parent said she is glad the school is taking additional precautions.
“I’m really glad that our district in particular is taking this threat seriously and will take the proper precautions to keep our children safe,” Kelly Kempton, an Oakwood School District parent said.
Several schools in Northeastern Ohio and Columbus received the same threat, according to our news partners at WOIO and WBNS.
The sheriff’s office encouraged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information related to these threats to their local police department.
