Israel-based drone company to partner with Sinclair; relocate to Dayton

DAYTON — A new manufacturing facility is coming to the Miami Valley and that means more jobs will become available.

It’s the Dayton area’s first autonomous drone-stacking station.

Strix Drones, an Israel-based company, announced on Monday that it will be relocating to Dayton. The facility will make drone-docking stations and will allow for smart-charging and work with any drone model.

The facility showed off the first of its kind technology on Monday. The company will work with Sinclair Community College on research projects.

Jeff Miller, Sinclair’s VP for Administration, said, “Certainly on the academic side in terms of creating the workforce to grow these technologies in the future. We have the programs to do that as well.”

Miller did not say how many jobs the facility would bring.
