Eaton police investigated how the boy was able to leave the Imagination Station Learning Center and make his way onto Washington Jackson Road.

News Center 7 Reporter Brandon Lewis traveled to Washington Jackson Road and reported it was “one of the busier roads in town.”

The child reportedly walked several feet before a man who was driving by stopped and picked up the toddler. He gave the toddler to a woman who lives near the daycare, who then sent the child back to the center.

That woman told a 911 dispatcher, “It just makes me sick. And, it scares me half to death to know that they’ve got kids that are getting out of the building by themselves and into the main road.”

The child’s mother spoke with Lewis, who described the incident and asked how the daycare operators could allow a child to get out of the building.

News Center 7 reached out to Imagination Station. They were not available to comment on the incident.
