COLUMBUS — Buckeye fans celebrated with the team Sunday after winning their ninth college football national championship.

“We got here at 7:45,” said OSU student Joshua Korth, who has been celebrating the win since last week.
News Center 7′s Malik Patterson said fans poured into “The Shoe” on Sunday to greet the team.
Governor DeWine shared his congratulations to the team.
“Fran and I are incredibly proud of the hard work and determination displayed by the Ohio State University’s spirit team, dance team, and football team in earning a national championship,” said Governor DeWine. “Go Bucks!”
Everyone agrees that the Buckeyes have defied the odds with their championship win. They tied their school record for most wins in a season, 14.
Athletic Director Ross Bjork announced the extension of Head Coach Ryan Day’s contract.
“Sports is so important. People need clarity. People need stability, need continuity,” Bjork said. “We’re not done.”
Senior wide receiver Emeka Egbuka and the rest of the senior class can finally say they brought a title back to Columbus.
“It means everything. It means everything. That’s all I can say,” Egbuka said.
Bjork said fans should enjoy this for now, but he already has his mind set on doing it all again next season.
