DAYTON — Two masked people hurdled a fence and broke into a Dayton man’s garage, nabbing thousands of dollars worth of items, including Christmas gifts, according to a Dayton police report.

Officers responded to the 1800 block of Tuttle Avenue around 1 p.m. Thursday after the man reported the incident to police.

According to the report, Playstation 4 games, Jordan tennis shoes and Samsung tablets were among the items stolen, totaling around $4,000.

The owner has surveillance cameras that captured the masked bandits use a trash can to jump over a fence and then try to pry open doors on the garage, the report said.  After failing to open either door, the suspects broke a window and entered the garage to steal the items.

The video is said to show the suspects leave the garage with trash bags filled with items and one suspect had a black book bag that was later discovered by the victim, the report read.

The victim told police the majority of items taken were Christmas gifts for his children.
