“I believe we need a new hotel here because we have a brand-new convention center,” Thomas said.
Thomas is a fan of UD Basketball and he believes the new hotel would be helpful due to the First Four and other sports games.
“We have UD basketball, the First Four, and we have the Dayton Dragons, who are fantastic,” Thomas said.
The Vitality Hotel will provide “modern hospitality” with self-check-in, digital hotel keys, and a virtual concierge, according to its website.
Two hotels are operating in downtown Dayton, and residents said a new one is necessary.
“They should bring more businesses in Dayton because there’s not a lot of businesses. Usually, they got a lot of businesses in Cincinnati and Columbus but here... They don’t really have much here,” one resident said.
Vitality Hotel has not announced the grand opening yet, but you can already book a reservation online.
