“It’s ridiculous. I’m tired of it. I’m fed up with the mess with Sunset,” Tanya Bill said.
Bill is one of the many residents who hasn’t had access to water for several days.
“They said it was only going to be cut off for like a half hour and then it was no water and we have been out all weekend long,” Bill said.
Officials with the City of Springfield said representatives from the apartment requested the city turn off the water so they could fix the issue.
A crew was scheduled to fix the internal plumbing issue, but in the meantime, residents were given buckets of water to help with the problem.
City officials posted on social media that they would provide a water truck, but Bill said that didn’t happen.
“There has been no water truck. That’s why I’ve been going outside trying to see where this water truck is,” she said.
“They gave me one gallon of water, and that didn’t even flush my toilet,” apartment complex resident April Shinn said.
News Center 7 reached out to the apartment complex manager, Shellette Golden, to see what caused the outage.
“I haven’t found it out yet. But I’m thinking the pipe froze over and busted underneath the ground because of how cold it’s been,” Golden said.
