Joe Burrow’s parents talk Super Bowl, son’s determination

ATHENS, OH — It seems like Joe Burrow is one of the most popular guys on the planet right now — we know he is among Bengals fans.

It’s hard to deny his calmness and likeability.

Just by listening to his parents, Jimmy and Robin Burrow, it’s easy to see how he became who he is today.

Joe’s parents live in Athens County, Ohio — their home is filled with photos and special memories.

They’re only too happy to talk about their quarterback son, but not boastful.

Joe’s father Jimmy said that Joe loves the city he represents and his team.

“People feel an attachment to him, his personality and the fact that he speaks so highly of being part of the organization,” Jimmy said.

His parents are well aware of the challenge that faces Joe and his team this weekend.

“I think that it’s the national consensus that the Rams are favored,” Jimmy said.

It doesn’t help that the game is on the Los Angeles Rams’ home turf.

However, the people who know him best say don’t count Joe out.

“Joe’s always looking for something to kind of have a chip on his shoulder and to be the underdog,” his father said.

Jimmy said that Joe will use being the underdog to mentally prepare himself and prove people wrong.

This is the year of the tiger, fans hope it will the year of the Bengal tiger too.
