July 4th Weekend Travel: Check your flight status

DAYTON — If you’re flying anywhere this July 4th weekend, check the airports for flight information before you leave and before you plan to return home.

News Center 7′s Brandon Lewis reports that the good news, at least at Dayton International Airport, is that there have been no canceled flights in the past 24 hours, according to flightaware.com.

A check of the arrivals board indicates that an American Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Dayton later this evening is delayed, the only one found during our quick check of flights late Thursday afternoon.

News Center 7 also checked the website for any issues at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, as well as John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky reports nine canceled flights in the past 24 hours, while Columbus has had seven.

We spoke with some travelers at Dayton International who told us they had their fingers crossed before boarding their flights Thursday.

“Flight’s OK,” Richard Singer of Maryland told News Center 7′s Lewis. “Yeah, it should be good. It should be. Hopefully, everything is going very smoothly.”

Aiden Carter of Maine said he had a two-and-a-half hour layover in Detroit, “so that can yield anything at this moment. I’ve had a lot of iffy travel experiences within the last five years going back home from holidays and other stuff like that.”
