1 juvenile in custody, 1 at large after OSP pursuit with speeds up to 125 mph in Warren County

FRANKLIN TWP. — Three juveniles led state troopers on a pursuit with a stolen vehicle from Franklin Twp. to Sharonville that ended as a crash early Saturday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lebanon Post, troopers initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 Chevrolet Spark for a speeding violation on southbound I-75 near Ohio 73 in Franklin Twp. The vehicle fled, continuing south on the interstate, and a pursuit ensued around 2:23 a.m.

Speeds reached up to 125 mph during the chase, which caused the small car to run out of gas and crash on I-75 just past I-275 in Sharonville. Troopers say once the vehicle went off the road and struck a brush, all three occupants attempted to flee.

The driver was captured immediately after fleeing and the passenger was caught shortly after.

The other occupant ran into a wooded area off of the highway and remains on the loose.

Troopers, with the assistance of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and Sharonville Police set up a perimeter to locate the individual, but were unsuccessful in their search.

All three occupants, whose names were not released, are juveniles under the age of 18, officials say.

The driver was taken into custody and charged with failure to comply, obstruction, and receiving stolen property.

The passenger was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with minor injuries. The juvenile passenger has not been charged at this time, troopers confirm.

The incident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
