A dealership employee told deputies that a black Dodge Durango was missing from the lot.

The male suspect returned with the stolen car but drove off after an argument with another employee.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect was an employee at Haaz Automall.

Deputies spotted the car on SR-14 in Streetsboro soon after.

A pursuit began after he refused to stop the car.

“The suspect drove erratically, running red lights and driving through yards,” the sheriff’s office said.

The pursuit ended due to safety concerns, but deputies found the car abandoned in a nearby apartment complex, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputy Murray, a member of the Portage Aggressive Crime Enforcement Unit (P.A.C.E), and his K9 partner, Hector responded to the scene.

K9 Hector started tracking the suspect, and after an approximate 200-yard track across grass and pavement, he led deputies to the suspect’s apartment door.

The suspect surrendered following some persuasion from K9 Hector, the sheriff’s office said.

He was arrested and transported to the Portage County Juvenile Detention Center.
