The 13th Annual Dayton Concours d’Elegance took place at Carillon Park over the weekend.

“We will draw somewhere between 5 to 6,000 guests through the park,” Chairman Skip Peterson said.

There is 200 antique and classic automobiles and motorcycles on display ranging from a 1899 motorcycle to a 2019 Ferrari Spider, and featuring the grand classics such as Rolls Royce, Packard, Cadillac, Bentley and more.

The event, which Peterson says is “keeping this history alive,” is also honoring the 50th anniversary of the Pontiac Trans Am.

“We fill the park from front to back,” Peterson said. “There’s 24 classes of cars so you’ll find a car you’re gonna like, I guarantee it.”

Along with the classic show, there were also other exhibits for the family to see.

“It’s a very family-oriented event because there’s a lot more to do than just look at cars because every exhibit in the park is open,” said Peterson. “There’s something for everybody.”

Peterson says the cars and motorcycles will also be judged.

“The cars are all judged in (28) classes. They’re divided up by year and by make and model,” he said. “We have 52 judges who are out right now on the show field deciding which ones win their classes, so we give out about 30 awards.”

Proceeds from the Concours will benefit Dayton History, the non-profit that operates Carillon Park, Hawthorn Hill, the Wright Brothers home, Patterson Homestead and various other historic sites in the Dayton-area.
