Kettering mayor home recovering from minor stroke

KETTERING — Kettering Mayor Peggy Lehner is home recovering after suffering a minor stroke in October, a city spokesperson confirms.

Lehner was hospitalized after suffering the medical at Make a Difference Day on Oct. 22.

The mayor was hospitalized for two nights, according to the spokesperson.

“She is feeling great, and she has been advised to rest for a complete recovery with no residual impact,” the spokesperson told News Center 7.

She’s currently working part time in accordance with her doctor’s orders and is “grateful for the well wishes.”

“More importantly, [Mayor Lehner] wants to emphasize the importance of getting immediate care when feeling symptoms that could be stroke related. Time is critical when it comes to treatment. [Mayor Lehner] urges people to pay attention to the message the body is conveying,” the spokesperson said.
