At 12:12 p.m., Butler Township police and fire crews responded to the 3200 block of Creekview Circle on reports that a person had been shot.
One resident said the neighborhood is a quiet community, so what happened today was shocking.
“I was kind of shocked to see what happened,” Bob Whitacre said.
For hours, several cruisers and police blocked off Whitacre’s street.
“I’ve been here since 2019, we’ve never had anything like this before,” he said.
Referring to a quiet, peaceful street, Whitacre said, “What you see now is usually what goes on.”
Butler Township police say a man was found dead from a gunshot wound. It is unclear if the man was inside a home or outside.

Some neighbors told News Center’s 7 Malik Patterson that this shooting makes them nervous.
The Bowers have lived in this neighborhood for five years, and they haven’t seen or experienced any crime, until now.
“You get emotional. Things happen, unfortunately,” Robert Bowers said.
Police say they arrested the suspect on scene and took them to the Montgomery County Jail.
News Center 7 is working to confirm the suspect’s identity and learn who the victim was.
