Large fights cause temporary closure of downtown Dayton Metro Library

DAYTON — A large fight broke out inside the downtown Dayton Metro Library Wednesday afternoon.

Dayton police and fire crews were called to Dayton Metro Library at 215 E 3rd Street on reports of an assault around 2:45 p.m., according to a Montgomery County dispatch supervisor.

News Center 7 crews on scene saw several Dayton police cruisers and at least two ambulances.

As reported on News Center at 5:00 & 6:00, dozens of people were inside the library when a fight broke out just after 4 p.m.

A Dayton Metro Library administrator told News Center 7 that the library would be closed for the rest of the day, but it has since reopened to the public.
