DAYTON — A large fight broke out inside the downtown Dayton Metro Library Wednesday afternoon.

Dayton police and fire crews were called to Dayton Metro Library at 215 E 3rd Street on reports of an assault around 2:45 p.m., according to a Montgomery County dispatch supervisor.
News Center 7 crews on scene saw several Dayton police cruisers and at least two ambulances.
As reported on News Center at 5:00 & 6:00, dozens of people were inside the library when a fight broke out just after 4 p.m.
A Dayton Metro Library administrator told News Center 7 that the library would be closed for the rest of the day, but it has since reopened to the public.
A spokesperson for the library said they would assess the situation before commenting on what happened.
“The Library exists to be open and safe for all. Steps and actions moving forward are with the goal of keeping the Library safe and open,” the spokesperson said.
