UPDATE: ‘All clear’ given after investigation at Montgomery County Job Center

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 3:17 p.m.:

The Montgomery County Job Center has reopened after a large police investigation Friday afternoon.

Dayton Police Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman told News Center 7 that crews were called to the building on S. Edwin C Moses Blvd. in regards to a “possible item” that may have been found.

Upon arrival, crews conducted a room-to-room search. After the initial search, the building was evacuated and a second search was conducted.

No item or device was found following multiple searches, according to Coleman.

The investigation prompted a response from multiple agencies and units, including the Dayton Bomb Squad and a bomb dog from the Dayton International Airport.

Coleman described the response as “an abundance of people coming here, coming together, and trying to make sure this incident ended safely.”

INTIAL REPORT:

Multiple police units are responding to the area of the Montgomery County Job Center in Dayton.

Initial reports indicate crews were called out to the 1100 block of S Edwin C. Moses Blvd at approximately 1:20 p.m. for an investigation.

Our crew on scene reports that law enforcement have Edwin C. Moses blocked off at Stewart St.

The cause of the investigation is yet to be determined.
