DAYTON — A man is dead and two others are hurt after a shooting at a gas station in Dayton on Sunday, a Dayton Police Sergeant told News Center 7.

As reported on News Center 7 at 11:00, Dayton police and medics responded to reports of a shooting at the Shell gas station on W Third Street and Gettysburg Avenue before 6:45 p.m.
Officers found two people suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived on scene.
According to the sergeant, the people involved in the shooting knew each other.

Two men got into a fight near the gas pumps when they both pulled out guns and shot each other.
They were both transported to a local hospital. One man died from his injuries and the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the sergeant said.
Their identities were not immediately available.
A woman, who was with one of the men, was hospitalized with a graze wound to her leg, according to the sergeant.

Dayton resident William McCray said he isn’t surprised to see the violence, but it has to stop.
“Everyone has enemies now and all they do is shoot,” McCray said.
McCray provided some insight on how this problem could be solved.
“Everyone is always going to have guns, but we need to make a change and put them down,” McCray said.
