Celebrating Larry Hansgen’s 40th anniversary with WHIO

Today marks a milestone for WHIO Radio’s Larry Hansgen. 40 years ago today, Larry started his job right here with WHIO.

He joined the staff of WHIO Radio in 1981 as an overnight board operator and quickly rose through the ranks.

Today, Larry is the host of Miami Valley’s morning news, he’s also the voice of the Flyers.

He’s also the author of his own book.

This is what Larry had to say about staying with WHIO for the next 40 years:

“I can’t imagine myself not doing it. I’m very fortunate that I’m in good health and the job itself is not physically demanding, the hours can be trying at times but I guarantee there are people who are retired that aren’t sleeping as well as I am.”
