At least 1 arrest made, more expected in connection to Daniel Carter Beard Bridge fire

CINCINNATI — At least one person has been arrested in connection to the fire that damaged the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge in Cincinnati, according to WXIX-19 and WLWT-5.

Our media partner, WCPO-9 TV, is reporting that up to three people were arrested, including one woman and two men.

Cincinnati Fire Chief Frank McKinley confirmed that Kaitlen Hall, 24, was arrested on two felony counts of obstruction of justice on Tuesday.

During a press conference, McKinley said he anticipates “more arrests to follow, due to the leads the fire investigation has.”

The large fire broke out in the early morning hours of Nov. 1 at a playground at Sawyer Point Park underneath the bridge.

The bridge sustained significant damage. The southbound lanes have been shut down since, according to a previous News Center 7 report.

Ohio Department of Transportation crews began demolition and repairs at the end of November.

The bridge is expected to fully reopen by the middle of March.
