UPDATE: Coroner ID’s woman killed in Washington Twp. crash

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — A woman is dead after a crash in Washington Township Wednesday morning.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Guillermina Rodriguez, 81, of Washington Twp.

Crews were called to respond to the crash in the area of Miamisburg Centerville Road and Yankee Street around 10:50 a.m. according to initial reports.

The crash involved a grey 2018 Honda Accord and a black 2021 Ford F550 tow truck, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation showed that the Honda was westbound on Miamisburg Centerville Road when the driver tried to make a left turn to head south on Yankee Road. During the turn the Honda pulled in front of the tow truck that was heading east on Miamisburg Centerville Road.

Rodriguez, the front seat passenger of the Honda, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the car was transported to Kettering Medical Center with unknown injuries. The driver of the tow truck was not injured in the crash.

The intersection was closed as crews worked to clear the crash, but have since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
